During the last twenty years, the field of applied sport and exercise psychology has received much attention from the media and from athletes, coaches, and parents. With the growing concern about illegal performance enhancing substances, both amateur and professional athletes are looking for healthy ways to increase their performance. The Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates 15 percent growth from 2006 to 2016 for all psychologists. Though the BLS does not list sports psychologists separately, it estimates the average annual earnings for all "other" psychologists as $83,610. The top 10 percent of these psychologists earn $128,630.

Within this growing field, graduates of the MA in Sport-Exercise Psychology program may seek employment in a variety of settings depending on their personal and professional goals. The “Chinese Government Scholarships – Postgraduate Study Project”, set up by the Ministry of Education of China (MOE), is intended to provide support for building universities to an international high level, and to promote Chinese higher education. Enrolment is managed directly by China’s key universities. The MOE has entrusted the China Scholarship Council (CSC) with maintaining the enrolment records and handling the routine management.

Categories of applicants and duration of scholarship

Note: Courses start in September 2010. In principle, the duration of the scholarship as specified at the time of admission can NOT be extended. However, if scholarship students take a one-year Chinese language course first, their scholarship will be extended for one year.

Scholarship details

1. Full scholarship:

- Exemption from registration fees, tuition fees, laboratory experiment fees, any internship fees, and costs of basic course materials and accommodation on campus;

- Living allowance;

- One-off settlement subsidy provided following registration;

- Out-patient medical services charges together with membership of the national Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China.

Notes:

1) Students are personally liable for expenditure on any laboratory experiments or internship costs over and above those arranged by the university.

2) Students are personally liable for expenditure on any course or other materials over and above those prescribed by the host institution.

3) A monthly living allowance is paid by the host institution to scholarship students at the following rates (CNY Yuan per month):

- Master’s degree students: CNY 1,700 Yuan

- Doctoral students: CNY 2,000 Yuan

4) The one-off settlement subsidy for new students who enrol for one or more years will be of CNY 1,500

5) Re-imbursement of out-patient medical services refers to such expenses incurred at the institution’s hospital or at a hospital appointed by the institution. Students may be required to pay a certain percentage of such expenses in accordance with the relevant regulations imposed by the host institution.

6) The Comprehensive Medical Insurance and Benefit Plan for International Students in China is provided by MOE to cover hospitalisation in the event of serious illness or accidental injury.

7) Students are personally liable for their international travel expenses

Eligibility

Applicants must be non-Chinese citizens and in good health.

Applicants must not be not studying currently at a Chinese university — students already studying in China can apply for a Distinguished International Student Scholarship provided by the CSC.

Educational background and age limits:

Applicants for master’s degree courses must hold a bachelor’s degree and be under the age of 35.

Applicants for doctoral courses must hold a master’s degree and be under the age of 40.

Accommodation

The overseas student apartments in Xiamen Campus are set in picturesque surroundings and enjoy sea views and fresh sea air. The buildings are fully-equipped with modern facilities, including telephones, air-conditioning, cable TV, Internet access points and separate bathrooms.

Accommodation is arranged overall by the University. Chinese Government Scholarship students, master’s students are normally accommodated in 2-person rooms, while doctoral students have single rooms.

How To Make The World's Easiest $1 Billion

With all the banks paying back the TARP money, some folks are assuming that the great Wall Street bailout is finally coming to an end.

But of course it isn't!

Taxpayers are still guaranteeing all big bank bonds (Too Big To Fail) and subsidizing huge bank earnings and bonuses with absurdly low interest rates.

But instead of bellyaching about it, you might as well just smile and cash in. After all, that's what Wall Street's doing.

So here's how to make the world's easiest $1 billion:

STEP 1: Form a bank.

STEP 2: Round up a bunch of unemployed friends to be "bankers."

STEP 3: Raise $1 billion of equity. (This is the only tricky step. And it's not that tricky. See below.*)

STEP 4: Borrow $9 billion from the Fed at an annual cost of 0.25%.

STEP 5: Buy $10 billion of 30-year Treasuries paying 4.45%

STEP 6: Sit back and watch the cash flow in.

At this spread, you should be earning at least 4% per year on your $10 billion of capital, or $400 million. Sure, there's some risk that the Fed will grow a backbone and raise short rates, but there's not much risk. (They have an economy to fix and banks to secretly recapitalize). And in any event, if the Fed raises short rates, making your $1 billion will just take a bit longer. (And if they REALLY raise rates, causing you to actually lose money, it will be someone else's problem.)

You'll have made $400 million in a single year! So pay yourself a fat salary for all your hard work. And pay your "bankers" fat salaries for all their hard work (But don't worry--your bankers won't actually have to do anything. You'll just need one of them to borrow the money from the Fed and buy the Treasuries, which he will be able to do part-time.) At the end of the year, celebrate. It's bonus time!

Don't be greedy. Pay yourself and your bankers the industry-standard compensation ratio of 50% of revenue. Your revenue was $400 million, so that creates a $200 million bonus pool. Pay each of your unemployed friends bankers, say, $1 million. And give yourself the rest for being such a smart entrepreneur and creating all the jobs and value.

Now, you've already made at least $150 million, so it doesn't really matter what happens next. But you're in this for the world's easiest $1 billion, right?

So proceed to Step 7.

STEP 7: Go public. After bonuses, your bank will be earning about $200 million a year, your capital ratio will be super-strong (10% equity-to-debt!), and your balance sheet will be clean as a whistle (all risk-free Treasuries!). So you ought to be able to persuade investors to pay you at least 20-times earnings, or a valuation of $4 billion. Sell 25% of the company for $1 billion.

STEP 8: Use your $1 billion of new equity to borrow another $9 billion at 0.25% from the Fed. Buy another $9 billion of Treasuries. Collect another $400 million a year. Pay yourself and your team bonuses that are twice as large as last year's. You deserve it! And you're now about $500 million to the good.

STEP 9: Wait for your stock to double or triple, which won't take long given your amazing growth trajectory and clean balance sheet. When your market cap hits $10 billion, sell another 10% of the company for $1 billion. Now you're really ready to grow.

STEP 10: If you want to get fancy and get nice profiles written about you in business magazines, start buying branch networks from defunct banks (the FDIC will pay you to take them) and start making actual loans. Also, start hiring trading desks to gamble on things more exotic than Treasuries. Yes, all this sounds risky, but just remember--the risk isn't yours, and you're already $500 million to the good.

STEP 11: Sell $500 million of your stock to a "strategic investor" and let the rest ride. Don't worry, if your traders and loan officers turn out to be idiots or the Fed suddenly raises rates, the taxpayers will handle it. And you've already made your $1 billion.

So, congratulations, you're now a billionaire! Now all there is left to do is celebrate!

The University Grants Commission, based on the initiative of Ministry of HRD, had introduced, from the year 2005-06, Post-Graduate Indira Gandhi Scholarship for Single Girl Child with purpose of supporting higher education through scholarship to such girls who happen to be only child in their families and also to provide incentive for the' parents to observe small family norm.

Eligibility:

Any single girl child being the only child of her parents is eligible under the scheme. The benefit under scheme will be available to such a single girl child who has taken admission in first year of a Master's degree programmes in any recognized university or a post-graduate college during the current year i.e. 2009-10.

Rate of Scholarship : Rs. 2000/-p.m.

Duration of Scholarship : 2 years (for 10 months in a year), (Total 20 months)

Number of Scholarships peryear : 1200

It is expected* from the University/PG College/Institution where such students have taken admission in first year of PG Course during academic session 2008-10 that no tuition fee will be charged from such girls should they decide to pursue their Master's Degree in university & colleges covered under 2(f) and 12(B) of the UGC Act.

Students who did not want to study abroad this year can reserve their exam results at most two years more, he said.

“This October we will announce the specific plans of the scholarships,” Vang said.

Vo Thi Mai Huong, who comes from the central province of Quang Tri and got mark 30 in the entrance exams for the Foreign Trade University, said: “I am really happy when hearing about the scholarship. I have dreamt about it since I was small.”

Charley Wootan Grant Program: Texas Guaranteed Student Loan Corporation (TG) has allocated $2 million to the Charley Wootan Grand Program. Of these funds, $1 million will be distributed to Texas students, and another $1 million will be distributed to students in other states, the District of Columbia, or U.S. territories to help pay for their college education.

The first-come, first-served, need-based grant program will provide up to $4,245 per successful applicant for the 2009-2010 academic year. Since 2000, TG has awarded nearly $7.8 million through the program, named in honor of the late Dr. Charley V. Wootan, a former chairman of TG's board of directors.

For the 2009-2010 academic year, TG will offer grants ranging from $1,000 to $4,245 to qualified undergraduate students. Amounts awarded will be based upon a student's unmet financial need. To become eligible, students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid and meet other eligibility requirements. Applicants must be high school seniors or graduates who plan to enroll, or are students already enrolled, at least half-time, in an undergraduate course of study for fall 2009 at a Title IV, two- or four-year college or university, or vocational-technical school, must demonstrate financial need, and be eligible to receive Title IV federal financial aid funding.
